Initial Progress (Sept 8-12, 2025)
Feels like good progress this week. I worked on getting a idle and walk animation transition to work correctly. Tossed in a background with a detail map on top, and downloaded unity’s cinemax camera package and tossed that to follow.
The exterior/interior are now transitioning on mount… it feels good.
Next I worked on cleaning up the ship images to remove the module nodes as I didn’t really like how they looked.

Then I spent time trying to prototype on the weapons might work.

so far I’ve landed on this. Weekend / next week I’ll work on placing them on the ship, animating the rotation and shooting part to really see how they feel and whether this direction will work.
Engine?
Spent some time of course banging my head against illustrator as I’m learning it. My new XP Pro V2 drawing pad has been a big help though. At least for me drawing directly on the screen works way better for my brain than using the drawing tablet that I first got.

Also started to fool around with what might look like the ‘engine’. Now trying to think whether i’d use something like the green portion o the purple thing. We’ll see next week!
